Just What Is San Diego Songwriter Associates’ Song Shout!
SDSA Song Shout! exists for one reason, an open mic for SDSA Members to showcase your *Original Song. It’s an easy and entertaining way to promote your songs, as well as interact and network with other songwriters.
Our philosophy for both life in general and the Internet is this: “Just put it out there”, because if the world can’t hear you, the world can’t respond.
You’re a songwriter, an artist, a creative individual. Like all creative types once the art has been produced you want to share it with others – you want reacton and feedback. So we’ve made it simple… here’s how it works.
- Register (it’s free!) and complete your profile
- Upload your song (video or audio)
- Read comments and see ratings on your song
- Comment and rate other member songs
- Make new friends, share, learn, collaborate and Have Fun!
Important: Song Shout! is a peer-to-peer song showcase. Comments and ratings are reciprocal, and all members should offer productive and supportive feedback to each other.
We do expect that our members be responsible with ratings and comments. Don’t rate songs based solely on your musical tastes. Just because you don’t care for New Age or Pop doesn’t mean the song isn’t a great tune. Be objective and critique constructively by giving helpful suggestions rather than criticisms. Rate and comment others as you would have them rate and comment you.
Song Shout! is meant to be simple, clean and easy to use. We Are Not complicated, cluttered with multiple widgets, add-ons, premium upgrades, interspersed with labels, venues, management, fans, intricate promo tools, site stores, member blogs …well, you get the picture. You’d just get lost in the shuffle.
In A Nutshell…
Song Shout! is your Internet Cafe, your neighborhood coffee house with the intimate little stage in the corner. Soft light sets the mood and the aroma of café au lait fills the room. You’re next, so you step up to the Song Shout! mic and present your song to the world. Great Performance! Now just sit back, relax, and as the great Demy/Legrand/Gimble song standard tells us “Watch What Happens”.
* All songs posted to Song Shout! must be your original composition. The new lasw state that you song belongs to you at the moment it is created.
